::::George Washington- He was the commander in cheif of the continental army and led the army to defeat the british and get are freedom. He gave hope to the colonist about defeating the british and won some key battles on in the american revolution. These battles were trenton and princeton, They turned the table and gave hope to the colonist, because at trenton they defeated the best military in the world at the time. :::::Richard Montgomery- He was a Brigadier General in the continental army and he captured Fort St. Johns and then montreal in November 1775. He was then promoted to Major General on December 9. He helped the colonist gain control of st. johns which was a major accomplishment to him and his troops. ::::Benedict Arnold- He was a Genral for George Washington and was one of the best genrals in the revolutionary war. He tried to take Quebec from canada/Britain. He Turned against the Colonist and Washington aftrer he thought we were going to lose the war to the british. ::::Horatio Gates- He was a genral under washington. He forced He forced British General John Burgoyne surrender at Saratoga in 1777. He was a major genral because of all the succues he had. ::::Thomas Gage- He was a Commander in the british army during the Rovolutionary war. He was in charge when "The shot heard around the world" was fired. He was eventually relived and returned to england and Major General Howe replaced him. ::::William Howe- He was a genral for the british and replaced Thomas Gage during the war. He led the forces that captured bunker hill and was a huge win for the british. He made many miss oppurtunities to capture the Colonist and put an end to the war early failed on them attempts and got kicked out of power very shortly after getting it. ::::John Burgoyne- He was a british officer. The most important thing he did during the american revoultion was surrender his army of 6,000 british troops to the colonist. He was very involved in politics in britian. ::::Charles Cornwallis- He was the Genral for the british army in North America. He did not believe the Colonist could beat his professional army. He eventually got surrounded by at yorktown that when they surrendred he sent people from lower ranks to go accept the defeat. He did win many very important battles for the british though.
